With the cost of living continuing to rise in many areas, we very much welcomed additional funding to support our community cost of living projects. The award from CnES of £2500 will go towards the existing ‘Stay Warm at Home’ project which offers fuel (coal, logs and oil) vouchers, and products such as oil heaters, electric blankets, throws and wearable robes. These are available to Bernera residents with an emphasis on the elderly, infirm and those on a low income, or living in older properties which are more difficult (and costly) to heat.
This project is being co-run by the Bernera Trust and a team of volunteers from the Bernera Community Association.
